Challenges

Speechify’s primary struggle was its outdated and dysfunctional design that failed to adequately convey its services. The poor UI design impacted high bounce rates and low conversion rates, consequently affecting their ability to generate interest and bring in potential or missed students.

Loading issues, added to a non-mobile-responsive design, posed barriers to the users attempting to learn more about their courses and registration processes. Given the context of 20-something, young professionals browsing largely via mobile devices, such technical hurdles had more significant implications.

Navigation problems and compressed content organization made it difficult for visitors to find relevant information about courses, pricing, and success stories, which led to low user engagement and opportunities lost on business.

The Results

After the site was redesigned, Speechify saw an astonishing 65% drop in its bounce rate and a 45% increase in mobile user engagement within the first three months. The average time spent on the site increased by an outstanding leap from the 1.5-minute mark to 4.2 minutes.

Conversions from course registration led to an abnormally high spike, with a comparative increase of 78% through online enrollments in the last quarter. Mobile responsiveness showed a dramatic 55% increase in registrations through mobile devices.
